Do you remember my second post when I talked about a series I had discovered that shared so many similarities with twilight?
Vampire Diaries, ring a bell? The CW Network has just announced that they will be showing the Vampire Diaries TV show, and yes I am excited. Though with viewing the teasers and what not, there are somethings and people missing. First of all Paul Wesley as Stefan and Ian Somerhalder as Damon are just the most perfectest (not a word, but is now), people for the roles. Elena isn't as popular and outgoing and blonde as she is in the books and I'm pretty sure that Margret (Elena's little sister) has been replaced by an older brother named Jeremy. But of course the one little fact that has Vampire Diaries fans in a up roar is the 'disappearance' of the character, Meredith. And as assumed, (but I know I did it to,) it is already being compared to Twilight. Which leads me to my, as promised (and long overdue) review of the not so final three books, yes that's right, I just found out that there are another three books due for release;
- Vampire Diaries: The Return: Nightfall,
- Vampire Diaries: The Return: Shadow Souls and
- Vampire Diaries: The Return: Midnight.
Please be warned there are spoilers.
Book 2: The Struggle. It didn't have as many similarities as the Awakening did, when compared to Twilight/ New Moon the only thing was that like Bella, Elena had to chose between two boys which she equally loved. Granted, most people would debate that Elena didn't love Damon as much as she loved Stefan, and yes that may be true but she did love Damon in her own way. But after saying that, I don't think that Elena would ever chose Damon over Stefan. Overall a great book and a fantastic follow up to the Awaking that left me thirsty for more...
Book 3: The Fury. The Eclipse of the Vampire Diaries Saga. Just like in Eclipse, the Fury leads up to an epic battle where brothers, Stefan and Damon (who still hate each other) must unite to save the one they both love from the one they both once loved. Confusing much? Elena is still torn between the two brothers, just like Katherine was (wink, wink). Bonnie finally taps into her psychic intuition and with the help of Meredith, Elena, Matt, Stefan and even Damon discover a secret that has been hidden in Fell's Church since the day Horina Fell died. But out of the six that discover this secret only five survive.
Book 4: The (Dark) Reunion. Not quite the Breaking Dawn of Vampire Diaries, which I have to admit thank god it wasn't. We start off in Florence, Italy and are pleased to find that Damon and Stefan are still together, just as they promised Elena in her final moments. (Well I did say there would be spoilers!) But after Bonnie's haunting dreams of Elena, she (using her mystic Druid knowledge) summons Stefan and Damon back to Fell's Church for one last battle. With Katherine a pile of dust the brothers and Elena ever loyal friend don't know who's causing all this trouble. It isn't until Bonnie channels Elena's spirit that everyone finds out that Klaus, (who changed the dying Miss Katherine into a vampire) is the one terrifying the town of Fell's Church. Of course we all knew some thing was seriously wrong with that Tyler kid and we finally find out what exactly is wrong with that disturbed child. The, what was thourght to be the final book end with yet another epic battle where, "No more blood will be shed."
Now go read this fantastic seris and come back and comment with your thourghts....
P.S Sorry I haven't posted in a while....
